This is the most beautiful thing I ever heard!

Awesome playing!.. I'm n00b, totally a new name for me..

With that shortened scale and bright strings.. kinda reminiscent to guitar, If I'd listen without seeing I would have guessed it as an acoustic-guitar by the playing and sound, with nylon-strings...:eyebrow::confused:

...and here I'm trying to bang the longest scale and thickest strings I can find for growl to metal.:eyebrow:

Go figure.:D

I've been obsessed with Jeff's playing and the sound of his Pentabuzz since I came across his videos a few months back on Youtube. I've never really been into solo bass, but this stuff is amazing!

excellent work Jeff!

I can't wait to pick up a Pentabuzz of my own

I really enjoy Jeff's playing. Oddly enough I was introduced to him via the Carvin ICON demo he did awhile back.

I will say that as a big Manring fan his style and tone are very similar to that of Manring. That's not a bad thing but in places it's a little too derivative for my taste.

heh, I just realized this guy was posting on this thread.

Great playing man!
And just wondering...about how long have you been playing?

And what type of bass were you born with? lol j/k

born with - he he - I wish!

I played bass in high school and for a year or 2 after and then had to give it up cuz of kids/family etc....

i didn't pick it up again till about 10 years later in 98/99. I got discouraged and kinda forgot about it.

in 2004 I lit a fire under my butt to give it a more "serious" try. took some lessons (first time ever) and started messing around with solo bass.

although i still hold a full time job - i've been fairly dedicated since 2004.

sorry for such a long answer. life is complicated sometimes! ;)

Just got thru listening to the jesus Fist tapes.

Damn that's some exceptional industrial noise Jeff!

Not at all what I expected after seeing the vid :D but very very fine!

Best of luck with that project!

Unexpected indeed. ;) Probably NOT the most beautiful thing you ever heard. Just like Jack in Fight Club who smashed pretty boy's face in - sometimes you just want to destroy something beautiful. :D

Just when everyone begins to learn about me for solo bass, I stop and blast out Ruiner Severhead - for free - to kids.

The inner working of the Jesus Fist Tapes are revealed in [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] podcast. Also For free - to kids - from satan.

Your playing impresses the bejesus out of me, Jeff. I have been playing over 20 years, and I could not even hold a candle to your work. You are a serious inspiration, man. :)

Actually I think it is beautiful, just cos its angry and distorted does not make it not beautiful. I love the production, which is IMHO stunning mate, really.

There are very few people who 'get' how far different levels and textures of distortion can take a piece of music, who also play the pretty solo bass stuff you do. Too often its either noise production savvy or technique/playing savvy you clearly have both.

So, yeah its beautiful, and angry, and I like anyone turning the words of these people back on themselves.

Respect for the quality of the vision, the production, the playing (naturally), and the message.

Also really enjoyed the podcast, very illuminating. Thanks!
