Musically, it's a bit like '70s R&B/dance/pop. If you take the vocals out, it doesn't sound country to me. Sounds good, though.

Yes, it's a very nice (country) song.

(What's funny, "Last Night" - Morgan Wallen's country song has been for 14 weeks No1 on Billboard Hot 100.)

Thomas Rhett's song starts with the Amaj9 chord which is unusual for the country song's harmony.
The bass has (primarily) just one riff (two chords) with some "rooted in root" notes in Bridge.
The use of percussions is also unusual for Country.

The repetitive chain of two chords - Amaj9(add6) and Dmaj9(add6).
Any major 9 chords put my memory in the Stevie Wonder's "You are the sunshine of my life."
The choice of instruments' timbre reminds me of a very popular (not in America) songwriter/singer Chris Rea, especially, hits like, "On the beach," "Driving home for Christmas," etc...
