Hi all!
I have Fender American Standard basses that I would like to string through the body with TI Jazz flats. I would like to know if anyone has done this- do they fit, or do they come up too short coming through the body? I've used D'Addario Chromes and the 'long scale' are just a bit too short for string through and I needed to buy super long scale strings to fit! That made me angry. The silks would have been forward of the nut and that's not right. TI s are too expensive to buy only to find I can't string through and have me cursing and shaking my fist at the sky screaming 'WHYYY!' and collapse into a crying, whimpering fetal position. Anybody have experience with this?
Thanks in advance!

Just took some measurements of mine on 3 basses. Interestingly, the length from silk to silk varies a little from set to set. But one thing that's consistent is that the E string is a little shorter, only about 35" (plus change) from silk to silk, while the others are about an inch longer. Silk on the ball end is approx one inch. These are very approximate measurements since I am looking at them currently strung up.

So my guess is that the E might be just barely too short to string though. IDK though because I don't have string-thru basses, so I don't know how much more string you need.
Good luck!
