My question for you is "Why do you want a 79 Fender bass?"
You probably know that you can certainly get a bass that will play and sound better for a much lower price, and there are modern basses, or vintage basses from other brands that look similar and are more consistant for a lot less money, and that a late 70's Fender has a decent probability of being awful...
So why do you want a 79 Fender that you can't try first???
