Thoughts on a new bass

So I've been playing on a Schecter 4 string for about 10 years now, sorry my bass is away from me and I don't remember the model. I'm in the market for a new bass and I wanted to reach out and get some recommendations.

I play in a cover band and we do all sorts of pop and rock tunes so I like some quick playability, and I prefer to have a nice round 24 frets. I'm just a little tired of the look of the Schecters, I know bass isn't about looks, but hey....It's gotta look a little good.

Stingrays are a little out of my budget and the Sterling's are ok, played on one today. Anyone have a recommendation for a next step to retire my Schecter to a backup bass?

I bought my Sterling Ray 34 for $595.

Added a set of LaBella Copper tapewounds.
Does it sound like a Stingray?
Who cares? I don't.
Does it sound good? Does it offer plenty of tonal variety?
Definitely!
