Thoughts on Gallien Krueger 400RB

Hey there, I just bought a GK 400RB series 1(1980s version I believe)off of EBay a few days ago, I've seen people say these brand of amp heads give you a totally a different sound. Just wondering if some of you can more in-depth info. I also heard the newer models tend to "burn up" more, any truth to this?
