I always see "nice bass" posts in classified ads as friendly gestures and free bumps. They don't bother me at all. In fact, I greatly appreciate them.
I bump ads every once in a while for TBers that are friends, people I like, if the bass is well priced, etc. It can help an item sell and obviously bumps the listing to the top.

I agree that PayPal is a ripoff to sellers. FeeBay is also. The fees are outrageous and you never get the full price you agreed upon. Regarding the stupid comments, you get a lot of those when you advertise on Craigslist. I will specifically say no emails and of course, I get an email asking if the item is still available. What they really want is to verify your email address so they can hack into it. I never answer them. Then there is the common check cashing scam where they want to send you a check larger than the agreed upon amount and have you wire the balance back. You can always tell because of the poor English they use. It's all part of the game. Stupid is, is stupid does. Good luck with your sale. Hope you get your funds from PayPal soon. You might want to call your state Attorney General Consumer Protection office for legal advice.

I expected something completely different from this thread. My sellers nightmare would be if someone flashes a gun during a sale
Some of those responses are clearly just friendly ways for others - often those who sell on TB themselves - to help bump your ad.
Others are more legit in terms of gripes - like being asked to drive to Buffalo or something.
As for your Paypal issues, that seems very odd to me. My inbound payments from buyers hit my account, and then if I choose to withdraw to my bank account (either TD or RBC), it usually takes about 3 days, and never more than 5. The % they take is a touch on the higher side, but when you factor in the time it takes to arrange a western union payment or something (which also have fees), it's usually worth it to not have to leave your computer and walk/bike/drive to who knows where.

Actually, that's not a TB thing. It's a PayPal thing. Part of the user agreement. Sellers that ask the buyer to cover the fees are breaking the rules.

Actually a sellers nightmare is not having anyone interested in buying what you are selling.
When potential buyers ask questions (however stupid you might think that they are) that is a good thing.
It starts dialog which can lead to a sale.
If you don't want to talk to people take your item to a consignment shop and let them answer the questions.
Getting your panties all bunched up over seemingly insignificant issues is really a miserable way to live.

Understanding the poster's intentions might help you. I'm that guy that's posted "GLWTS" in effort to bump someone's post and give addl credit for a potential buyer who is on the fence. It's a small community here and we often look towards each other for input / feedback on guitars you might not have at your local store.
I'd understand that with a no paypal/trades outline on your ad it would be irritating if someone were to ask if you'd take paypal or trades.....
The rest however is pretty trivial and a GLWTS is if anything a helpful gesture with the aim of you selling the thing quicker (also, who gets bent out of shape at being wished 'good luck'?). The 'Nice bass, I have one just like it' isn't a stand out example of being pedantic - TB wouldn't have any clubs if it weren't for the fact that most people enjoy common ground of ownership.
As for the issue with borders I'll just sit on my desolate rock in the North Sea and pretend I can relate to issue.
Also; Monaco Tropical Rainbow Oasis Metal Flake Magenta.........I want one.
