When I see that, I stop reading and move on. This to me screams SCAM ALERT.
The stuff about 'nice bass' and GLWTS and all that is part of the community here. We help each other out, I'll even answer simple questions for the OP if I know the answer because he can only post once a day. My friends do the same for me. Hopefully they will remind me to not buy anything from you

I've never had to wait more than a week to get my money out of Paypal and most of my transactions are out of country.
It does get a little annoying when people don't read your ad and ask questions that you've already answered but it's no big deal. IME Talkbass classifieds is the best way to sell gear. As a seller you need to be patient and helpful and make your potential buyers comfortable. You'll sell more stuff that way.

The responses to this thread are pretty telling...aside from the 'drive 200 miles over the border' request (which is so ridiculous of a request that it's actually funny) the rest of it only serves to bump your thread (or at least did until TB slightly changed the bump algorithm) and hasten your sale.

The only thing that bothers me is when a seller refuses to take Paypal..that is the only way I will purchase a bass from a fellow TB'er…

As a seller, it never bothers me when someone compliments or just comments on an item I am selling. It can only help, and it bumps me up to the top!

If were a bass player and posted some gear on TB for sale every now and then I'd be happy with the questions and discussions since they bump the ad to the front page where more people can see it.
However, if I were more of a seller than player and wanted to use TB on a daily basis as a place to get top money for the inventory I wanted to clear, I suppose I could be all bothered by people waisting my time with questions vs sending me their money.
I've been known to sift through the TB classifieds and click on an ad that looks interesting and conclude that its a great buy but not exactly what I'm looking for. In which case I usually post a pleasant comment and move on with the assumption that at the very least I've shown the seller their ad is of interest to other bass players and potentially that bump has provided the ad some additional exposure to a potential buyer that otherwise might not have seen it. My apologies if I've done this on one of your sales.

There are indeed forums for commenting on basses. This forum, the BASS FORUM, for example, is for commenting on basses. It's not for rants about selling basses.
Also, CAPITAL LETTERS DENOTE YELLING AND HOSTILITY.
I've made comments for that reason and always viewed it as helping a out. I will also indicate if I own or previously owened one, again, to be helpful.

Now, I *think* sympathy was the ultimate goal of your OP, right? It's honestly hard to tell though when you reply like this.
If the intent was to get people to stop doing those things, well, there's an easy solution there. Don't post your for sale items on these forums. Problem solved.
In terms of Paypal, etc, man I must do a lot of business with them as I've had $1000 payments post instantly. That's a YMMV/how much does PayPal trust you issue. PayPal is an accepted standard on the internet; a 4% hit shouldn't make or break your day.
As a buyer PayPal is pretty crucial; if I don't pay with a method that allows me to reclaim my funds in case of fraud, I could be stuck holding the bag if you decide to screw me. Not quite sure how that's complicated.
Regardless, GLWTS, and it might be a good idea to try and understand basic internet etiquette before posting a IM NOT MAD BRO response in all caps.

I HAVE SOLD MORE THAN 4 ITEMS HERE--SOME BUYERS DID NOT AND COULD NOT MAKE COMMENTS BECAUSE OF CIRCUMVENTING THE SYSTEM HERE ON TB.
IS THERE A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT FOR ANYONE (SALES) TO MAKE COMMENTS.

I have over 250 positive feedbacks here and I can say none of what you stated are "issues" free bumps and human kindness. The driving 200 miles sounds exaggerated and I doubt more then 1 person has asked that.
TB is what it is. Its not all peachy, you will get low ballers here to. You will likely even get more tire kickers here then craigslist as its a lot of bored guys that dont necessarily need a new bass. If you post something on here also post it on craigslist. I do live in LA but I find that 75% of the time when I post a bass here and on CL it sells on CL first.
I guess the only thing I find annoying is when you are offered a low price and they expect you to ship it at that price and take the paypal fee's when you could sell it at that price locally, because it is that low and not have paypal fees or shipping fee's removed from it. Those members are few and far between, but when you sell something it comes with the territory. Some people love to haggle others are buying low to flip etc.
