you can place them on pickguard , and they work very well.on that picture you break them into 4 squares.

Thanks for posting this! I bought these today and they work real well. The quickest and easiest solution if you don't want to permanently mark your bass.

Hi,I made mine out of purpleheart wood,and put them on with 3M tape.They stay put,but are easy to remove.....

Just screw it down. What's two small holes? You could easily cover them up with a different pick guard and an ashtray or fill the holes with wood putty and touch it up with nail polish if you wanted to sell it.

Vic, what'd you use for the thumbrest on that SX? It looks sweet!
