So the oval ring around the serial is part of the sticker... Thanks!

Although I wouldn't call that a "hairline" crack...

I do like the photos wearing the motorcycle helmet, too!

Yes, the oval ring is the edge of the sticker. Here is one of mine, although you can't see the oval in this picture it is there.

Looking at that crack, if it hasn't been repaired and the strings are at tension it is in danger of breaking. If they ship it like that chances are good it will arrive with a broken headstock.

It is possible they glued it and just didn't refinish, in which case it might be ok. One of mine has a repaired headstock like that, where they just glued it and left it like that. It is solid.

I would certainly find out before buying. It would be risky.

Yep it's legit. The natural ones are pretty rare, I don't know if it is the lighting in the pictures but the finish on this one looks rather lifeless and dull, like it had been in to much sunlight. The natural finish '76s are one of my favorites.

I just noticed the nut on that one. It has slipped off the lower edge of the fingerboard. The '76 I bought new did that too. The glue they used must not be very strong, and the strings pull sideways. I had to have it reinstalled. It took about 20 years before it happened, I guess the glue they used became brittle and cracked, then the E string has a sideways pull coming off the tuners so it moved it. An easy fix.

It's nice to know mine wasn't the only one that did it.

There aren't a whole lot, but I have seen two or three out there; would any t'birders with Kahler trems be kind enough to post close-up photos of how they sit in relation to where the 3 point bridge post hole is? Cosmetically, is it a clean covering over where the posts used to be? I'm thinking of installing one on my Epi Custom Shop but I want to be sure it can be done neatly before I order...

Thanks
