Hi All, New member here. I've been playing bass seriously for about 3-4 years now, but have been a drummer for 31 years. I still drum, but bass is really my passion now. I have had quite a few different basses since I started my little "hobby", mostly Fenders, both Ps and Js, USA, MIM and Squier. I now own two Epiphone Thunderbird Classic Pro IV basses, one white, one sunburst. I could not be more pleased with these instruments. These are the only basses I own now. I've always loved the TBird/Firebird body shape, and when these Epis came in at GC, I had to try one. I loved the feel and the sound, in addition to the look. The white one was the one that really struck me. For some reason though, I decided to take home the sunburst. I loved the visible grain, and body and neck plys, and thought the burst would somehow look better in more different situations. I couldn't get that Alpine white one out of my mind, though, so I swapped two days later. Well..long story short, I really missed the sunburst one too, so a few weeks later, they still had it, so I returned an Ibanez I had purchased, and got the sunburst back. I restrung both with D'Addarios, and they sound and play beautifully. The white one is slightly hotter and bassier, and the burst is slightly warmer sounding. Long post I know, but it's my first one, and I don't think there is a more appropriate thread. Sign me up for the club! I'll post a picture when I figure out how.
