I think it's about time I join this group.

Got my Gibson Thunderbird in January, and this Epiphone T-bird Silverburst just yesterday. Although that one's going to the luthier very soon, it'll be converted to a 5-string!

So, no number for me?

I appreciate your replies. I've never owned a Gibson, but never forgot the sound that an old friend got from his TBird. Can't wait til I get mine.

Lollar makes reproduction Thunderbird pickups as well. I don't know what his windings look like or how many K they would measure, but I'm very familiar with the sound of a NR Thunderbird and based on all the recordings I could find of each brand offering, Lollars sounded just like the sound I'm familiar with. And now that I have them/Have used them for awhile, I can affirm how good they are. However, mine didn't actually go into a thunderbird > _>

That's good to hear about the Lollars. I'm having a custom Stambaugh built with one of them. Les Paul bass shape though so it probably won't get me in this fantastic club. I'll catch a bird someday.

From what I've gathered through intensive search:

US made Gibson T-birds use CTS pots, which have fine splines, and import ones like the Epiphones use Alpha pots, which have coarse splines.

If the dome knob has an attachment screw, it really doesn't matter the number of splines, as it will fit equally well.

However there are dome knobs as well out there, which are push-on - these can have different number of splines.

Those knobs are quite nice - Never seen those before!

Looks pretty much like the original knobs (sort of), and could very well be the ones you're looking for.

As the website says, they should fit all split-shaft posts - so I can't see why they wouldn't fit on yours as well - What kind of 'bird do you have?

Actually, I'm going through a retro vibe at the moment, and am in the process of switching all my dome knobs to vintage style black/silver reflector knobs on my guitars & basses.
Those knobs also look pretty cool!
