Thanks! Yeah, it's just straight abalone strips - it's not like I'm an inlay genius or anything, although I do really like the end result!

That's the only inlay on the board (other than side dots). I wanted a minimalist look, and I never actually use the face dots while playing anyway, so it's purely decorative.

When looking at thunderbirds front, (where you see the pickups controls etc.) the ones with angled headstocks {A-D-G strings are straight, E is on an angle}, the body looks bit bigger and the ones with straighter headstocks (such as my goth) have a narrow-er body. It might just me, but it does look that way when compared side by side in picture. Could just be the picture too. but for those who have Epi birds (classic pro, pro iv and v, goth, blakcbird, basic bolt on, custom shop) if you have two, compare them, wonder if it's really ust me and the pictures or it's true fact.

Tried it for couple minutes at music shop. I love the neck as always, but i don't fancy the whole gold. But to me, it don't sound different from any other gibson bird i've tried over the years.

I don't fancy the whole gold thing that much but it is growing on me.
I play all my instruments regardless, but this being a Limited Edition is interesting to me.
I remember the 1976 edition and what they are priced at today.

I notice the neck is three piece mahogany like the Gibson Blackbirds. Wonder how/if that's a contribuiting factor or if they voiced the pups a little different

I actually think it is the typical TBird multi-ply neck on the gold bass. The end of the headstock has the exact wood layout pattern as my 2001 Bird, but that pattern is missing on my BlackBird. I will try to get a good shot of the headstocks to post later so we can figure it out. I know Gibson's site makes it sound like they made the neck different than normal, but they have been wrong before. Is there anyone else with one of the gold basses that can expand on this?

Got my Gibson Thunderbird in January, and this Epiphone T-bird Silverburst just yesterday. Although that one's going to the luthier very soon, it'll be converted to a 5-string!
