What's wrong with Flats? lol. I was thinking of throwing some on my bird after a while. Get that vintage '60's sound/vibe
I was having a bit of a poke at the conventional TB wisdom, playing a Thunderbird will definately get you noticed. Re the Flats, I recall reading an article on Black Crowe's bassist Johnny Colt some years back - he mentioned using flats on a '70s Thunderbird for several recordings, I'm sure that for some players it would be good tone. After reading that I tried some TI flats on my '89 'Bird - I found that I didn't care for them too much, tonally and in the tactile sense. But then I kinda like a lot of clanky mid range, at least with the band.
