One of the original FenderBirds as built by Peter Cook

:thumbsup: ...the smiley-stickers on his jacket, ymmd!
Praising JAE once again - he was a real genius, trying what nobody else did. In his own way. The Who were also revolution pure, I will always keep them in my mind, though I'm more a punk/new wave dude.
Generally, I really dig the Bird Thing, but the the tiny nut width isn't made for me, I prefer the (older?) Epi TB iv necks. But I love the width at 12th fret, P- or J-basses are too wide for me there.
This would be an option for Gibson Birds, as well as chrome hardware. Birds are so attractive, and you can't change the neck, so there should be a choice. The original is untouchable, oc.

cheers

I like the "if I were sponsored" question. What's interesting to me is how often guys want to endorse stuff that's not made or is at least quite old. We're a funny bunch, aren't we?

Here's my wish list:
Big companies have deep pockets, so my first choice would be Dunlop. I'm already using their Heavy Core strings, so I'd continue with those with custom Haji Endorsed graphics. The Dunlop endorsement gains me access to Planet Waves, D'Addario and MXR, too, so I'd be using my current MXR Bass Distortion and add a couple of choruseses so one can be a phaser, compressor, the mini bass wah and a tuner. If i can't endorse MXR pedals then I'd like TC Electronics.
For bass, I'd sign with Fender to have them do a factory FenderBird. If they won't, I blow them off for Warwick who either makes a TBird for me or a Reversed Reverso and a Streamer like the Rex Brown sig model. If I have a Roadie then I run their thousand watt hybrid head and 410 cabs. I could also be happy with Ampeg, Hartke or GK, too.

I know there's a lot of hate out in the general population on those. They're really pretty decent for a "disposable" amp
I bought one for my son long before I used it for this in store performance . I really really like this amp! Who's That rehearsals are relatively low volume and the Rumble 200 is perfect for it.

on my Levis jacket right shoulder .

Chinabucker inquiry:

Feeling somewhat under inspired by these, but they are in a project parts bass, and string pup height is probably not optimized.

Where are you folks setting these? I may need to replace the bridge to lower the strings. Pups are maxed out, about 6mm from string. Ive heard 4mm...

Sorry I just eyeball 'em.

(From the GIbson site I think)

Pickup Height - Measured from top of pickup to bottom of the string when string is depressed at the last fret.
