Played mine on an outdoor gig Saturday night. I don't practice very much. I sometimes forget how good it sounds. Nice refresher course.

One of my heroes when i was a kid. Great little drum and bass solo right near the end. He was a monster. He hadn't been playing all that long when they did this stuff either, 3 or 4 years I think.
Thank God it's just a song.
Just a song and of a completely different time. The Beatles like most other '60s British bands then were emulating American Blues artists, and if one wants to get wiggy about lyrics one probably shouldn't listen to many of them as they are a bit more than "politically incorrect". It's objective music/cultural history at its base - and liking a song isn't a red flag, or shouldn't be. "Down By the River" comes to mind - one of many songs that touch on a possible past sensitive reference that doesn't exist today in most civilized societies. I say 'most' because as we know it isn't across the board in the broader world of 2022.
to think Zep covered this….Just a song and of a completely different time. That right there is some serious Bass Porn!
Between you and Kara I’m a complete mess every time I see a Red bird!
Well, I was about to suggest that we organize a record burning party. For me art is art for the most part. That's actually one of my favorite tunes off Rubber Soul.
LOL - sounds like a plan, not a good one, but definitely a plan.On your way to Kentuckiflorilina, you can deposit the non Red Birds. I live right off US50, so not a big detour
Probably more accurate than you can imagine, at least the part about not having enough room.I’m thinking he won’t have enough room for all of them and will decide to leave a few with me.
The BlingBird absolutely stays with me.Probably can spare a few, and since he’ll be retired he will only need the ThunderPimp
You and Donny with those tempting pics are getting close to pushing me over the Red Bird edge…I guess I'd better do my part then, yes?

My wallet and I are So Afraid…
(One of my many favorite Mac songs, MacVie is my favorite bass player of all time. Mick and Lindsey just kill it in this clip).

We’ve been slacking this weekend.
It was a slow week.

Yes, you're correct. let's steer towards the thread topic please.

Yes, clearly came off (way) smarter than him. Unusual for the time.I think at least part of the reason I never saw it as threatening is because Alice always put him in his place, she won every time.
Talk about Thunderbird porn. Captured those playmates in their nest high up in the California mountains.
Probably can spare a few, and since he’ll be retired he will only need the ThunderPimp

Money is replaceable, but you'll never get back all the time where you were missing out on owning a red Thunderbird![]()
An atomic self-evident truth bomb has just been dropped! No refuting that logic. All counter arguments have been henceforth leveled. My soon to be daughter in law has a silver car with hail dents. She names everything. It's name is Maxwell. She is in her mid-20s and is a complete Beatles fan.agree that it doesn’t sound good, kinda uneasy feeling.
But wasn’t the offensive lyric a homage to an Elvis song “Baby let’s play house” ???
Not good in either song.
Mind you Maxwell Silver Hammer has some issues as well
We are here to enable. I had a Bird but gave it up. A few years of Precision and Ric later, I had to have a Thunderbird. When you are chosen by a Thunderbird, you must go. They know who is a Thunderbird person. Sounds like you were chosen, but just took a while to understand how inevitable it is once it happens.I don't have that bass any more gave it to someone in need. But yes, I need to fly a Bird again.

Larry Graham is up there for me as well. Not that I can do what he did or sound anything like him.Jack Bruce, Jack Cassidy, JPJ and most especially for me - Tim Bogert - hands down the bass players who ruled then.
