Thunderbird Club

Played mine on an outdoor gig Saturday night. I don't practice very much. I sometimes forget how good it sounds. Nice refresher course.

Jack Bruce, Jack Cassidy, JPJ and most especially for me - Tim Bogert - hands down the bass players who ruled then.

Just a song and of a completely different time. The Beatles like most other '60s British bands then were emulating American Blues artists, and if one wants to get wiggy about lyrics one probably shouldn't listen to many of them as they are a bit more than "politically incorrect". It's objective music/cultural history at its base - and liking a song isn't a red flag, or shouldn't be. "Down By the River" comes to mind - one of many songs that touch on a possible past sensitive reference that doesn't exist today in most civilized societies. I say 'most' because as we know it isn't across the board in the broader world of 2022.

Well, I was about to suggest that we organize a record burning party :laugh:. For me art is art for the most part. That's actually one of my favorite tunes off Rubber Soul.

Judging from what I agree with you on here - my response was hopefully read as a continuation of like-mindedness. :) There are taboo limits, but all based on historical context. Based on some disturbing things happening today, sociological evolution doesn't seem to be moving quickly enough. But art is not only art for the most part - it has been a powerful foil to life's degradations for decades... maybe centuries. Long live art.

The BlingBird absolutely stays with me.

When I moved out here from KY I didn’t trust the moving company to take proper care of the guitars - it was a staged move, so all our belongings were packed up and sent to a warehouse for a month then shipped to our house. I ended up shipping about half my guitars with UPS to my new neighbors address and the other half got packed in gig bags and loaded into two SUVs along with a few other valuables that we chose to move ourselves. Worked out good but those SUVs were packed to the gills and I had about half as many basses then as I do now. For this move we are contemplating buying a Mercedes Sprinter high top cargo van but will still probably need to pack all the guitars and basses in gig bags to save room.

My soon to be daughter in law has a silver car with hail dents. She names everything. It's name is Maxwell. She is in her mid-20s and is a complete Beatles fan.

I would like a green Thunderbird. The next refin will be green. I haven't decided what green. Chevrolet Rallye Green is at the top of the list at the moment.

We are here to enable. I had a Bird but gave it up. A few years of Precision and Ric later, I had to have a Thunderbird. When you are chosen by a Thunderbird, you must go. They know who is a Thunderbird person. Sounds like you were chosen, but just took a while to understand how inevitable it is once it happens.
