Well, now that you are here, you really need a Thunderbird of your own. Although I gotta say that bass you have is pretty great. Speed bump pickups? I would love to find out what it sounds like. It looks a bit like a Burns, and it looks 1960s Japanese weird, too. A great combination.I've only played on a Thunderbird once as a kid just starting out playing. That thing would Howl like Allen Ginsberg at high volumes until I poured about a half a pound of wax in those pick up covers.

I had a friend that had a Quad system. He would buy any album in Quad. It didn't make a difference, Led Zeppelin or Boston Pops. We even had a local Quad radio station back in the day, for a minute, KQIV FM. At the time, it played fusion jazz, like you Weather Report album 24/7.
Yeah the "stereo" process at the time was not what we know of stereo today. 4 tracks ping-ponged to a mono track, could be the whole rhythm section. Then 4 more tracks down to one, maybe all the vocals and a tambourine. Then the "stereo" mix, all the band on the left and all the vocals and tambourine on the right.
This guys series of vids on JH is a great/historic reference to recording at that time. I love Chas Chandler saying; "if the band can't play it in two to three takes, they shouldn't be in the studio - not good enough" - word. I mean, I don't have anything against a studio engineer making a little extra money... just sayin'...

agree that it doesn’t sound good, kinda uneasy feeling.
But wasn’t the offensive lyric a homage to an Elvis song “Baby let’s play house” ???
Not good in either song.
Mind you Maxwell Silver Hammer has some issues as well
One of my heroes when i was a kid. Great quick drum and bass solo right near the end. He was a monster. He hadn't been playing all that long when they did this stuff either, 3 or 4 years I think.
