Glad you’re liking it! I have the Dunlop Marcus Miller Stainless Steel Superbrights (45-105) on mine. They’re similar to the SIT Power Steels in feel and tone. Figure out the right amp eq settings (don’t forget to take a pic of the settings) for your taste and you’ll really enjoy having it as an option. I think it’s a lot more comfortable to play than my VP (I’m only 5’8” and don’t have Gaolee’s reportedly long arms). I love the ergos on it and the ‘13 NR as much as I love the ‘15 Reverse. I envy your Thunderbird Collection of different vintages and pickups. It just got even better now that you have your NR!

I do, and am certain I'll greatly enjoy it. I've never tried the Superbrights, but do like the SITs. Who know, I my try flats of some kind for kicks. I've done that and found "that's a flats bass" before. The good thing is it didn't sound "bad," as some can from the start.
Interesting about the ergos. Do you play standing or have you added a 3rd button? Sorry if you mentioned if you have.

I have wanted a NR since seeing Leon playing one, so I'm very happy to finally own one. I doubted I would ever be willing to pay for a 60s NR, so this is a close as it gets. Now to get Gibson to stop making them so the value will shoot up!

I have Rotos RS66 on mine and they sound really good, they're about 6 months old now and are fading but they still sound good to me. I think these things sound great palm muted with a pick.

Somehow I doubt that. The thinking may not always achieve the desired end or be consistently as good, but I'm confident there's always thinking going on.

I don't specifically recall racism, but there were plenty of "ism"s in it. I never took those to be serious, but rather parody/pastiche/mockery. It was a time when it was acceptable to display the very behaviour being ridiculed in the pursuit of humour.

Oh yeah, one of the 'racist' jokes was so funny that I still remember it word for word today but if i ever posted it here, I'd get banned for life and it was not a cruel joke at all or meant to be racist. That was my point about the honeymooners too, it was OK to say "Right to the moon Alice!" in 1955, not anymore but it's still funny.

If memory serves (and it may not) assault is the threat and battery is the act. Family law, especially when it includes violence, is so often steeped in tragedy.

The Lampoon comedy albums were worse. But they sure seemed funny at the time.

Sanford and Son would cause some to come unglued. After wetting their pants and after the stroke. Everybody got offended--better, were not free from stereotypical jokes. And it was and is funny. When you can laugh at yourself life is much easier and causes us to be generally more enjoyable to be around. (The opposite is not true.) Richard Pryor made fun of "my people" and it was funny as all get out. Mostly because there was an element of truth in it that all could relate to. Never once did I ever think of being offended because I had sense enough to know his point wasn't to offend in the first place.

Both seated and standing. I have not altered the buttons. I use good straps.

I understand that. I never found the "to the moon" line funny as I always thought that it insinuated that there was actually violence in that relationship. But much of the rest was funny - Norton was great.
