Thunderbird Club

Hi all! I’m just sticking my head back in to the TBird club to say I ended up swapping a Babciz bridge on to my 2021 NR.

I immediately realized a more punchy and defined tone, with added sustain for days….

NOT :roflmao:

I just got tired of having the saddles tumbling out when I do string changes, or having the bridge height adjuster screws spinning during my clutsy handling when the strings are off.

I’ve got this same bridge on my older Reverse, and it’s been rock solid.

That is all. Back to the regularly scheduled TBird hijinks.

:hyper:
Nice choice. Pic please.

Interesting, I assume the bridge is square with the strings, is the hard tail at an angle to the bridge? Looks like the E string side sits further away from the bridge than the G string side? (I hate it when my G string gets all crooked);)
It's always looked like that. I'm not blessed/cursed with OCD, so I never noticed it 'til I started taking pix of it. Now I just don't look.:smug:

That might explain some of it. I’ve noticed intermittent issues before when cutting and pasting a pic from the internet to TB. Sometimes it posts nothing, sometimes just the link with no photo, sometimes the word IMG in brackets. What I do now when I find a pic on the web I want to post here - I click on the pic, save it to my photos file (instead of cutting it) then go to TB, and in the reply to thread box I type my text and then hit the “upload a file” button and select the pic from my photo library file, works every time.

Sadly, no pic.
I'm lazy and just like "right clicking" to copy the image as before. I can always see the images and have never had any indication of a problem until it was mentioned. The funny thing is, I can see the image just fine in the "reply" of someone saying they can't see it. That may be related to the image data already being present on my Macbook. But that's just an uneducated guess.

That certainly makes the most sense. The alternative would be a few here are having the same intermittent glitch, which seems unlikely. If you are proven correct, does this mean you're going to do a victory dance in nothing but watermelon garb?
I do that every time I log on to Thunderbird club

I know you really wanted the eye bleach picture, but I can't do it when you are expecting it.

Does it mean you have OCD if not having the string ends lined up bugs you?

.....only of you go to excessive lengths to make them lined up?
(I guess maybe something like adding spacers to the string on the ball-end.....:cautious: )

Pillrolling?

Pill rolling is a real thing that pharmacists (apothecaries) used to do as part of preparing pills. Here is an apparatus that was used for that.

It is an antiquated practice and now "pill rolling" almost exclusively refers to a characteristic tremor in Parkinson's disease.

How about just twisting them back in line with needle nose pliers?

Sonic Youth with Kim playing her T-bird "Eric's trip"

But note also that weird guitar Thurston is playing here.

That song depends on the BIZARRE set up of a guitar they call "the Drifter." Named that way because it would drift from owner to owner in a circle of people who all knew each other in the New York No-wave scene.
No frets, a bolt as the top nut and all the electronics, save for the output, removed. As I said, the song "Eric's Trip" relied on that guitar and when it was stolen (along with all other guitars that the band was using back in 1999) it was feared that that song would never be played again.

But don't count out how loyal Sonic Youth Fans are because one of those fans generously donated a Gibson Sonex which became the New Drifter.

With which the band had a reason to bring that song back.

I LOVE that song so much.

You know you have quite the match there in bass/rig - it’s a VP/PV!

I LOVE that song so much.

Wish they were still together. Thurston was a jerk to Kim.
