Stupid me opened the case of the NR while vertical. I forgot a I had an phaser I only use at home and it bounced around and hit the bass. Actually the neck volume knob--which it broke. Since I need to buy a set most likely, I'm considering going gold like the many/most of the 60s instead of the the black. Any thoughts?

The black looks good, but would gold look better? I'm thinking it might.

Kind of like these as well. Ablone tops

You could grab a set of gold ones from a VP & see how you think it looks?

Yeah, the gold or abalone would be nicer I think. I also like the transparent ones Gibby are putting in the Les Paul Modern (I think Modern?).
Thanks Mate. I kind of like the silver since there's no black and there is plenty of chrome.

Sorry to hear that, but I guess it could have been a lot worse. Im probably an outlier, but I kinda like the black knobs best (even more so if they go to 11).

Of course there’s always the alternate route…
Just send the damaged bass to George’s house of guitars for a quick free fix. We’re quoting a 1 week turnaround on all repairs no matter how big or small. Of course you’ll want to send it to me right away to get in the queue since we have a 15 year backlog.
Thanks for the vote and offer. That sounds good since I'm in no hurry. Please send address along with Social Security and bank routing number...for confirmation purposes only, of course.:smug:

If the neck is straight, buy it. That is a great price for an underrated bass. The single coil Superferrite pickups rock. I like them better than any jazz bass pickups. The bridge and pickups are original, the knobs aren’t. If you don’t like it I’ll buy it from you. This is my ‘86:

Remembering you had one and spoke highly of them I almost said that was a definite buy.
