I got the Gator Icon bass case and tried it out last night for the first time. It's a step up from the ProGo in protection. Some things I prefer about it and some things I prefer the ProGo. But I think the pros outweigh the cons. First and foremost, the bottom part is wider, so the Icon zips up effortlessly, where the ProGo I always have to work the zipper around one of the bouts, at least on my left-handed Thunderbird. For my use, the pockets on the ProGo are a little more usable, but then again I've been using one for about nine years now, so I'm probably just used to it. It'll take a little rethinking for where I put my stuff.
Nothing longer than a 2013 Gibson Thunderbird will fit in either.

My thoughts on strap locks and my favorite for Thunderbirds.
Yep. About 300 under current market, which is still low for those with the Supperferrite pickups. If it had the original knobs, it’s worth a lot more. They are nice basses.

I have a metric buttload of the gibstone knobs, my least favorite knob like evar....
I had to start putting them in the cases of the geetars I took them off of cuz my zip-loc bag was splitting...

Is anyone concerned Chuck is listening in on our conversations at home? I mean, anyone have a neighbor with an intercontinental antenna like that? I think the bass player thing is just a cover. He really works for one or ore of the three-letter agencies.

For reference, my favorite neck is on my Carvin LB20. The Reverse Thunderbird's is very close to that, but not quite. The Carvin's isn't quite as rounded.

Those necks are a bit narrower than a 7ender pocket, but could be made to fit.

Good point. I didn’t check shipping, just looked it up on google and posted the first link that came up. I bought mine from either Stewmac or Philadelphia Luthiers, all about the same price, or go Amazon if you have free shipping. But buy one, they work great.
