I have the same requirement because I walk or use the subway to go everywhere. The hardshell case is enormous and completely unwieldy on public transportation. I only use my hardshell cases for bringing to a luthier and leaving. But now that I have the Icon, I may use my ProGo for that purpose, so I don't have to rely on a friend with a car to give me a ride.

Now if they'd only build one with a 52" minimum inside length.
EDIT: I use this to take the bass to the shop. Rockbag, made for a Dean bass. Not a helluva lotta padding.

Slim chance. It was a surprise that the Gator fit, with the bottom cushion removed. At least you have a great gigmobile!

I can't speak for the Gator bag but I trust Ken's opinion on gear so if he gives it a thumbs up, I think its a good choice.

I do own the Ritter bag you linked to and its a solid choice. I use it to take my Birds out of the house and never worry about anything being damaged.

I don't think you would go wrong with either option that you posted.

I’m with you there. I was hoping 1 - 2 years max…. But recent events mean it will likely be 2 - 3 years. I’m done as well, I was hoping for a merger and a redundancy but that’s not going to happen.
