Thunderbird Club

Unless, of course, Gibson occasionally did that back then as they do today...

Even still - if the body & neck are mostly ok.., that's the major percentage of the worth of that (57yr old mahogany/rosewood) vintage bass. ATC, the extent of that hs crack would be the first thing to consider in my book. (only 1 pic - no reference/mention of it)

Incoming Nonreverse from TBer Basshag. We worked out a deal on this bad boy and I'm pretty excited about it. She's a II converted to a IV natural refin with a repaired headstock. Really looking forward to having this bass in the flock. View attachment 4779330 View attachment 4779331 View attachment 4779332 View attachment 4779333 View attachment 4779334

Very cool bass and very cool Schaller made Gibson-stamped bridge! The Schaller 3D roller-bridge is a favorite and that's a more 'high-mass' version of it. We all know you'll rock it! :bassist:

That was helpful. Before I clicked on the link, I was thinking. I now have a job offer. Maybe I’ll accept it and start working in a few weeks. And maybe the wife won’t be too pissed if I use some of the vacation cash out from the last job to get a Bicentennial. Then I saw the asking price. I’ll pass.
Very happy to hear about the potential job and hope all the discussions progress well. Continued prayers for not only for a job, but wisdom along the way.

I know. When I saw the price I about choked. I'll make anyone a deal: My white '76 (wit a '76 #) half all of that price, for you all only! My wife paid a little too much of mine from a legit vintage dealer, but at half off this list price I'd still come out ahead. I hope you land one some day, but not that one at that price. I do like mine, but not that much.

I will probably install a Badbird and sell The Schaller.

View attachment 4779575 Bird sighting on Spotify. I’ve heard of this group Silversun Pickups but never listen to them. Not sure how it got on my playlist. The Queen may have better legs but happy to see this bird being front and center.
Well then maybe you should give them a listen. Nikki (affectionately known around here as my girlfriend) is great!
