WANT!!

Maybe I should break out my old statics (not statistics) book. On the other hand, an exploding headstock might require dynamics...
Once upon a time I did the calculations of the pulling force on the inserts. I do not plan on doing that vector math again, so if you are really interested, you will have to look back a few pages* for it.

I will not resolve the force vectors,
I will not resolve the force vectors,
I will not resolve the force vectors...

I didn't need to, Mike Lull set that bass up years ago and I haven't had to touch it. He knew what he was doing.

As I said, others will disagree about the position of the center screw. I will say that my problems with the three point have only occurred on Epiphone bolt-ons so that is why I like the center slightly higher.
Same experience here. Only ever had one anchor pull out and it was on an Eppi. Coincidentally, it happened as I was lowering the front screw to roughly level the bridge. Never had a problem on a Gibby three point, but the anchor design is completely different.

George loves to tinker.
That’s an understatement! I guess 35 years in the R&D department of a global corporation does that to a person.

And when he's doing that and dinner's ready, his wife rings the tinker-bell.
I'll go to my room now.
LOL - actually, my wife knows not to interrupt me when I’m designing or building or tinkering with something, I have a tendency to lose sight of time work right through the day and we’ll into the night.

Yes. @GBassNorth needs to buy a `21 NR.
Buy one.
BUY ONE!
I really hadn’t considered one because I assumed they were voiced the same as a VP, which I already have. Are they noticeably different sounding than a VP?

I would be interested in the TB+ in the 60s pickup location. I'm not sure how good my '64 would sound if the pickups were in the modern positions. I can't imagine it sounding better. But we all have various flavors of "better." I like the TBs at home, but live they or the spacing looses something that is present at home compared to the VPs or the '64. Currently the Black Nylons are a great match for the '06. And they look good on it as well.

@Count Bassie has a 2013 CP
with that spacing, only year it was done that way on a CP.

While I believe there is a difference in the amount of force pulling up on the anchors depending on which way you tilt the bridge, if the anchors are solid, they aren’t coming out.
One difference I can see is the break angle over the saddle changes depending on how you tilt it. I’m not sure that would make a the bass sound or play any different.
