Thunderbird Club

Thinking about adding a second Fenderbird and assembling it myself with a Jazz neck that already has its tuners, maybe even an LH neck to get the reverse headstock look. Also taking a peak at Thunderbird bodies w/pickups. Not planning to start from scratch, just not in my bones.

Looking at various options on the used market. Plenty of Jazz necks out there, RH and LH, even a few Aerodynes. As for bodies, also lots of options: the usual IV model, but also a few goths and vintage Pros/60s models, like the sound of those. If you guys have parts you're looking to unload, just PM me, right now I'm assembling ideas.

We all know what V is for!

Oh behave.

Ok some fun for the day, help me spend my money!

I’m totally undecided what color or finish to put on my next build. Here’s the finishing company I want to try out, they have tons of great finishes shown on their website…
Gallery - GuitarPaintGuys - Check out some of our work!

Which finish would you choose?

Design parameters:
Most likely a NR Fenderbird dual pickup build.
Neck will most likely be vintage stained maple with a maple fretboard, black blocks, black binding.
Hardware will be chrome or nickel
Pickguard will be parchment (not white)
I already have black, white, gold, brown and pink Tbirds - so extra points for picking something other than those colors.
Can't go wrong with Sunburst, this one looks good too!

Honeyburst is something I did to a ‘72 Jazz with maple fretboard and black block/binding neck, except I used a black pg.

Firemist Charcoal Metallic (They even have that displayed on a NR body)
Ocean Turquoise

Might sound crazy but I think a metallic silver bird with a black pickguard and white etching would pop

I use 99.5% isopropyl alcohol when I bring home a bass or do repairs on basses for our local high school.

Would it attack Nitro? I use that stuff when I need to strip paint off of my model trains.
