Thunderbird Club

[Windy] So I went to a jam last night, and our fledgeling band did three tunes. It was the singer's birthday and she runs this particular jam on Wednesday nights, so in the spirit of support, and because we love her, there we went.
We were just ok, I sent out a few warts... A three song debut is just not fair. Humility is good for the soul.
Anyway my CP Thunderbird was the max. It felt great to play, and the sound is to be coveted, for sure. Warm, big, and hefty, with a forward presence in the mids, as we're all aware.
The local most revered and talked about jazz bass player was there, I first met Joe through some gear swaps/deals we did over a stretch of a couple years. I think we meet via Craigslist. I didn't see him play in person for years, but I eventually found that the praise is well deserved. Anyway he walked up after our gypped set and was enthusiastic about my 'Bird. He'd never played one before, he's always been intrigued by the design and was highly impressed with it. He asked if he could check it out and he sat with it for a few minutes, remarking how nice it felt to play. He seemed to be having a nice time with it.
I played some more as the night went on, somewhat redeeming myself for my previous middling performance... That bass is honestly a killer axe. Very glad to be able to play it. There were complimentary remarks through the night about it, and I had to agree.
Oh yeah, there was a small amp that night, an almost diminutive Epifani thing, a Piccolo or Staccato? Had a big volume knob right in the middle of the front panel... It was sitting on a 1x12 Euphonic Audio cab. Phat, clean and punchy. I have always gravitated to a clean tone. I do like dirt, heavy fuzz, and chorusey sounds, but clean, darkish and punchy have always been at my core. That was an interesting amp, and probably weighed all of 12 lbs...
Very cool! Glad you got out on a stage. I’ve never actually seen a CP in person. I keep looking for the absence of the bolt on neck plate when I see Epi Tbirds for sale…

TT...

It used to was one could tell the make of a car from ~100 yards. Now, with everything being "aerodynamic", I can't tell one from another 'til I can read the nameplate.
For example, I could identify a "shoebox" Ford(49-51)by the grille from ~100 feet; same with the 52-54 Fords. And it was similar for other makes/models. Even cars with the same basic bodies(Ford/Mercury; Chevy/Olds/Pontiac; DeSoto/Dodge/Plymouth)had different front end treatments or taillights.
Caddies, Lincolns, and Imperials were all separate.

Yup same here and most of them had the same basic style for three years with minor facelifts.

And we just have to show off the great Peavey rig as well, don't we?

Second time this week! :D

....it might be getting a "new" addition tomorrow.....:nailbiting:

Question on mixing cabs. My Sunn 215m is 4 ohms. If I get the Trace Elliot, it is 8 ohms. If I run both into the Sunn head (200w @4 ohms) will that cause any issues?

Can the Sunn operate safely at less than 4 ohms? I'm not expert on ohms combos, but I think 4ohm + 8ohm == 2.67ohm?
