I won't opine on the right hand for lack of details.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome causes nerve damage through compression. As long as there is still nerve function, function will slowly return after surgery (slowly meaning months to years). If it were me (and it isn't), I would, at a minimum, seek steroid injection(s) to reduce swelling and provide relief (assuming you have ongoing symptoms).

Seek out a hand specialist (assuming there are some in your area) if covered by insurance/HMO.

Even before it was bought out us locals didn't make Oly the beer of choice when we were drinking beer as teenagers, Rainer was the choice! I recently watched a Doc about Creedence Clearwater Revival on netflix that was quite good, they mentioned that the "Clearwater" part of their name came from an Olympia Beer ad campaign.

Sorry to hear this - I tried the copper-treaded gloves but not sure they did much. Some people say they help.

Disclaimer - I am a dedicated allopath and a slave to evidence-based medicine.

I don't recall ever seeing any evidence in the form of randomized, controlled trials. With out that, I would place it in the witchcraft/old-wives-tale/scam category.

My own experience with non-invasive measures was that the braces (cock the wrist backwards to open the tunnel) did little/nothing for me. My own read of the literature is that by the time you are having meaningful symptoms, they are rarely sufficiently effective to negate any other treatment.

Steroid injections are often helpful but may need to be repeated one or more times. The surgery is curative.

I've got some copper compression gloves with no fingers, I need to put more effort into seeing if they will help when I'm playing....

If you are playing with "good form", your fretting hand wrist is cocked forward for extended periods. This position will aggravate CTS.

I battled with my teacher - he wanted me to bend my wrist more and I refused because of the implication for CTS. I adapted my own style. Do what works for you, not necessarily what the pros profess.

My current pick of choice is the "Miles Pick" on the right. This was the first test version. I've since found that one larger hole will work for me really well. Helps when there is a little perspiration which can make the pick move around a little. I used to use these Mel Bay picks. Super grippy. I have a few from Gary Rossington from years ago and that got me to buying them. I now prefer the sound of celluloid picks. But in a live setting it actually makes no noticeable difference. But when noodling at home there is a different sound. But, I'm not saying tone is in the pick or anything crazy like that.

Normally I don’t care about such things.
But man, they were nasty!!
I gave my alien hands a proper wash afterwards
