Thunderbird Club

This is such a great club. We make the effort to get to know those close to us. I’ve met George a couple times. Kara once. Chucky and Rosa, Veronica and Frank, Geo, Dave, and of course Jeff who I had a most enjoyable car ride with when I picked him up in King City to take him to last year’s GTG. I value the friendships. Their special. And for those I haven’t met in person, I expect some trips when I retire and and can travel for an opportunity to meet. Heck, I’m even willing to go to Texas just to meet Miles. Irv, Will, @D.M.N., Roger, Ken, Larry, Andy, Donnie, Mike, Honda Punk, Mr Gator, Scott, Mark, and of course Bryan. Geoff in Oz, and our friends in Finland. It’s a long list. And then there are friends through the Mesa Club. My retirement days will be fun.
I don't know how long you plan on living, but you might want to speed up that retirement just a bit if you want to hit all those places.

We already do, it's just that no-one is filming it.
Trouble is that no one would believe that we really are like this...

There will also be Birds and some crazy folks...
It is well worth the trip. Book flights now to save. Meeting V and Frank, Chucky and Rosa, Dave, Geo, and Jeff who promises to be there is totally worth it. And possibly George, Will and Mr. Ringmaster. And hopefully Kara! We need to get Andy and @D.M.N. to make it too. I’m getting excited.

A few years ago, I was in SF for JP Morgan. One of our consultants committed too late (if you don't have a hotel booked by June, you are not staying in walking distance of the conference) and ended up getting an Air BnB in the mission. He didn't show up for a breakfast meeting and we started wondering if he was a) killed on his way back the previous evening, b) killed by an intruder as he slept, or c) killed on his way to the breakfast meeting. He then deprived us of a good story by safely showing up for the next meeting.

I don't necessarily fear for my life living here, but a 30 something was stabbed to death last year next to our property. Most likely over a dispute about drugs.

I made a plaque that hangs on our sliding barn-door. It's in an alley called Balmy Alley in which all facades have murals. Tour groups are a common occurrence.

Our converted loft space was originally a livery barn - a responsible young tech guy currently rents it fro us. Chucky and Jeff were visiting here last July and saw the murals.

...and once again, Miss Mona in Balmy Alley shortly after we got her in May of '20. (high covid period) She was from Central Valley and reveled in her new urban surroundings. (lots to sniff!)

One of you artists need to design a biker jacket. Don’t look to me…..

I have a traditional black leather "biker jacket" I got for cheap at Goodwill. Even that graphic would be cool on the back. People would be confused, and I like that.

I’m confident I can set up most any bass. But I don’t have the proper tools (yet) for fret leveling, crowning and dressing. That will change when I’m retired. For now, I’m happy to pay a well regarded pro when needed.

This bass needed a lot of attention Marshall, it went to the right person for its TLC.
