Said Thunderbird b4 custom PG:To clarify: this was in 70-72 when I was playing(keys/sax)in a group doing high school shows. A crew of kids would meet us, help load in/out, and earn passes to our shows. Almost everything was on wheels and we had a dolly for whatever wasn't. Took ~20 minutes to get everything into the gym or auditorium where we were gonna play. In addition to the bassist's V4/2 2x15s, I had a VOX organ>a Leslie 147>the Kasino, the guitarist had 2 VOX Super Beatles, the drummer had a double bass drum kit-all in cases-plus trap case, and our components PA, which was in a homemade plywood cab, and 4 Altec VOT utility cabs. And all the mics, cables, and stands. Each of us moved his own bass, guitar, or sax/flute.
FWIW, during the time this band was being put together, I saw-and held-a Thunderbird for the first time at Manny's, NYC. And thus began my quest. Found the 67NR in 73 across the street from Manny's. Rudy's, IIRC. $250 w/ ohsc.![]()
And on another note:
