Thunderbird Club

WHOA!!!!! I want it!!!!:drool::drool::drool:
Heck, we have about a thousand club members, if we each kick in $4 we could share it amongst the club. I’ll take it for the first week, then you can have it for the next week, and pass it on to Marshall for a week, who can pass it on to our Queen and so on. It’ll only take about 20 years to cycle back to us again. :roflmao:

White Birds on stage!

You need to find a way to get your guitarist to play a Firebird!

Says it is out of stock. I hope a TBer got it!

Yeah, but we had 'roadies' at each venue.

Yup, the good old days. I used a double SVT set up for a long time and only touched the controls although later on I did start to do my own lugging. I have a lot of respect for roadies, not an easy job. I would help sometimes especially if we were in a hurry. I remember one place called Uncle Sam's in Hull, Mass. We played the small room downstairs every week on an off night but once in a while would do openers upstairs in the main room, you had to carry all the stuff up a very broad, very LONG stairway that led into the room, I can still remember lugging stuff up that staircase. Of course, this was forty years ago.

Paypal? Venmo?...

I thought a Babicz only came on 2015 and 2018 Thunderbirds. It might be a 2018. If I remember right, there was a hole in production between 2015 and 2018 or so, but that could be foggy. Whether the Babicz is stock or not, it's a pretty decent price.

My 2018 came with a Babicz, it was called a Thunderbird LE, pretty nice bridge.

Close to forty years ago, I was running sound for a husband/wife duo. We'd do long weekend mini-tours mainly around GA and SC. There was juuuust room for the three of us in the (long) van with all the gear (that fit in exactly one way that only G could get right). Between the bass bins, the other PA speakers, the guitar and keyboard amps, and keyboard, it was rough. Never mind everything else. Gear back then was NOT light! The worst was a 105F 95% humidity day in rural SC where the gym they were playing was pre-cooled to about 60F. Running that gear in and out was murder, and there wasn't any help.

Foreshadowing: G and I had long hair and beards.

We went to take showers and change, but only the girls locker room had showers. No problem; G and I went to one end and J went to the other. This was a church-sponsored gig. We heard women's voices so G and I turned off the water and ducked down. The pastor's wife and another lady were looking for J. They talked to her over the shower wall for a moment and then left. After we finished showering, drying, and dressing, the three of us walked out with wet hair and our stuff - right into the pastor, his wife, and a couple of other people. The looks we got!

The concert went great and we had help for loadout, although by then it was down to a balmy 95F or so. A couple of the big helpers scoffed when we warned them about the bass bins. They staggered under the bins to the van and we managed not to laugh. 8^)

We used to carry four JBL scoops, well, "they" usually carried them.

To clarify: this was in 70-72 when I was playing(keys/sax)in a group doing high school shows. A crew of kids would meet us, help load in/out, and earn passes to our shows. Almost everything was on wheels and we had a dolly for whatever wasn't. Took ~20 minutes to get everything into the gym or auditorium where we were gonna play. In addition to the bassist's V4/2 2x15s, I had a VOX organ>a Leslie 147>the Kasino, the guitarist had 2 VOX Super Beatles, the drummer had a double bass drum kit-all in cases-plus trap case, and our components PA, which was in a homemade plywood cab, and 4 Altec VOT utility cabs. And all the mics, cables, and stands. Each of us moved his own bass, guitar, or sax/flute.
FWIW, during the time this band was being put together, I saw-and held-a Thunderbird for the first time at Manny's, NYC. And thus began my quest. Found the 67NR in 73 across the street from Manny's. Rudy's, IIRC. $250 w/ ohsc.:)

Don't forget the extra cost to convert it to left-handed for when it's my turn, then back to right-handed for the next person.

Some beautiful grain on that mahogany! Has it been sanded down to the raw wood?

Thank you! I'm a sucker for a natural + black hardware look. No, I don't believe it was sanded down but there doesn't seem to be a thick layer or coat at all. The previous owner told me that they bought it and barely played or modded it so it should be all stock.
