Nah. I can get one of my Thunderbirds to honk, burp, bark or fart if I wanted to. Or my Foundation. Maybe if someone showed me a picture of my girlfriend Nikki playing one, I’d reconsider.

But in all seriousness, I have played some over the years and just don’t care for them. It’s like the few who don’t care for non-reverse Thunderbirds. Or reverse Thunderbirds.

But never say never. If a FSO J bass (Fender, Lakland, Sadowsky or something of like quality) in Lake Placid Blue or Daphne Blue with a matching painted headstock came up at a killer price, I’d give it a chance. Remember, I’m that shallow.

:laugh::thumbsup:….

I personally don't like the looks of it when it happens. Even used to circumcise the silk a bit. I'm sure it makes some difference, but I did some A/B testing once and couldn't tell any difference, which was a surprise. I know it has to make one, but not enough for me to notice.
There is no way I would to try to do a circumcision on a set of $52.99 tapes. Not after my wife (who rarely says anything about what I buy for my music) noticed how much they cost.

Where is that? And is "The Devil in California" your band or the venue?

Bottom of the Hill
Devil in CA was the headliner. My band, Red Sun Ruins, was the opener. Great crowd, place was reasonably crowded, even for us as the opener.

My other band, Bad Lemon, is on tonight at Hotel Utah.

Then this old bass player’s fingers need a break…. 8 days straight of rehearsals capped with shows 2 nights in a row… Love It!!!

Shallow is an admirable trait.
