Thunderbird Club

As promised, these are only open to Thunderbird club members at this time, if no interest I’ll post to the gen pop in a week or 10 days or so…

(Left) 1988 Greco Red TB-70

main features/changes..

Gotoh tunas to replace the shoddy large plate 7ender style, when removing the factory E tuna bushing a chunk of the black veneer came off and was reglued, but not polished out…

Epiphone bridge replaced the case hardened cheese whiz krackle finish stock bridge

electronicles look unmolested except for the Marshall amp knobs.

frets included as well as a new Epiphone case… Pyramid gold flatwound strings

original tunas and bridge can be included, or given a Viking funeral… given the exceptional quality of the rest of this bass these parts make me sad..

(right) 2021 Gibson Inverness Green NR

main features/changes..

Volume/Blend/Tone knobs placed inline Marshall amp knobs silver/gold/silver

@godofthunder59 tailpiece/claw

heel strap button added

Pyramid gold flatwound strings

original strings/knobs/ransom pic/gibstone strap included

I have many more pics but I don’t want to clutter up this post and thread…

pm me for additional pics and prices, but the club price won’t be the gen pop price, will be shipped insured for the purchase price value. Prefer CONUS

nd 6 string players…. Also gots a Bonamassa treasure firebird 1

Gee Willy, all three of those are beauties that I’d be only to happy to own. But alas, mufunzalo.

I'd love to have the Greco, but between mafunzalo and mapartmentsmall, I'm not getting any more basses/amps/etc. for a while.....

:(

Current flock, before the VS gets the black PG, Supertone bridge and Fender neck.

Wrong basses but it's Saturday and I'll most likely take my 'birds to tonight gig so...

I compared the "Ric" -style sounds of these two basses. The black one really nailed it but I think the other comes very close.

4003 has the bridge pickup on, the mod/mut'd J has the middle pickup on.
I think I like the 4003 a bit better. Then again, it's kinda early. My questionable ears aren't awake yet.

Better look under those pickup protector films. I bought a new VP and left them on because I knew I was swapping pickups. Pulled out the 760’s, left the film on, stock spacer ring on bridge pup, and packed them away. A few weeks later I opened up the box the get the spacer off the bridge pickup and when I unwrapped the blue tape I used to keep everything together, the film pulled away and I discovered a dent in the nickel pickup cover. If I had seen it before I made any changes to the bass I would have returned it, but it was well over a month since purchase and I had already changed pickups, strap pins, strings, had setup, and changed TRC/PG.

BTW, if I may ask, what’d ya pay?
