Rotosound RS66LD for me! This one is nice and light and attractive but not stunning grain. A plain Jane just how I like 'em.

If that requires atonement, I have to buy a Thunderbird. I was playing the Fakenbacker 4001 and it sounded great in the mix. It doesn't sound near as good on its own.

Fresh from our personal stash is this all original 1961 Fender Bassman Piggyback set w/1 factory JBL 15" speaker in wonderfully clean shape !

Not too far from me geographically; worlds apart financially. Besides, I prefer the 2x12 version.

Wrong basses but it's Saturday and I'll most likely take my 'birds to tonight gig so...

I compared the "Ric" -style sounds of these two basses. The black one really nailed it but I think the other comes very close.

4003 has the bridge pickup on, the mod/mut'd J has the middle pickup on.
