The gray-haired dude in the guitar print shirt is Dave, owner of the shop we took over today. Super cool, very knowledgeable, a good bassist & guitar player, and not a bad drummer. The young woman at the desk is Rebecca, self-described as “one of Dave’s minions” - a brilliant guitarist (we’ll get to hear her play with @Chucky Stiletti ’s band tomorrow). Seriously cool people, seriously cool basses, and some seriously cool amps in More Music. Y’all really need to try to make one of these GTGs!
The basses @JIO and @GBassNorth make sound even better than they look.
Firsts for me: playing a B-15 flip top, playing an Ampeg folded horn cab and a Sunn Coliseum 300, playing a ‘65 NR II, playing a Bicentennial bird, playing a 2015 bird (@Stealth57 ’s, I believe), playing a fretless (an early Alembic prototype at the shop), playing @MCF ’s short scale Silverburst and Epi LE, and of course playing all the basses the builders mentioned brought. A friend of Chuck and shop owner Dave, named Eric, showed up with a few basses, including a Bicentennial & the 65 NR.
I also played all the other basses people brought, despite having played them or their siblings in the past.
At one point, shop owner Dave played drums, and for ~10 minutes we had a bass jam with at least 5 basses playing through amps. It was phenomenal.

Just three. Two of the Queen’s and his P.
  1. The red-orange Lull - killer, with low end for days.
  2. MPC Outlaw - great tone, more mids, sits easily in the mix.
  3. Precision - it’s no Thunderbird, but it was in yer face.

As much as I enjoyed playing all those basses, the people are the grooviest. This is a special club, and I look forward to meeting more of you face to face, and to seeing those I’ve met again.Y’all freaking rock.

I'm taking it everyone got along and there was no fight, tables being turned over, Marshall didn't throw his scooter across the room...all proceeded by someone speaking unflattering of another's Thunderbird family linage. :smug:
