Thanks Mark. Fortunately in person you can tell it's not just brown paint. Actually looks great with the aging of the maple neck. I once read that the Mahogany and Ash were orders and painted could have been several woods. Correct? I don't know. I wanted Mahogany.

Ma province du Québec is usually quite permissive on those matters and I don't recall seeing of hearing about one of those in our neck of the woods. Topless restaurants yes (awful), but donuts. I guess we drew the line at pastries ?

my bad, you are right, think we are actually talking about the same motor (brain fart)…..when Chrysler bought AMC (87) they dropped production of all AMC V8s with the exception of the 360 which they continued putting in Jeeps (don't know about trucks) for 20 years or so after the purchase….

Chrysler/Dodge/etc. had a 360 also, came out the year I was born (1971), based on the 318, originally with 340 heads until fuel economy/emissions regs got rid of them


They were used up until the early 90s in the trucks & rwd cars, when they were replaced by the Magnum 5.9L.

The AMC 360, as you said, continued on in the Jeeps (Grand Wagoneer), also until the early 90s, when the old SJ Jeeps were ended. The Grand Cherokee that replaced them had the 5.9L Magnum....

Iirc, the Magnum line ran for a decade or so, until replaced with the current "hemi" engines.

…and full circle, that 5.7L (barely, I think technically 345ci is 5.6L), is what I've got in my '11 AWD R/T Charger.

I'd love to have a 1969 R/T with a 440. A 426 Hemi would be super cool as well, but a modernized efficient 440, with maybe the engine management, injection and all the rest that pulls as much horsepower out of each c.i. all while running clean on pump gas would be great! Oh, and 4 wheel disc brakes and modern (?) steering.

I guess a stealth resto-mod 1969 Charger is what I'd love. Vintage looks on the outside but modern mechanicals on the inside.

Except I would have to have the old '70's aluminum slotted dish wheels. Think "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry"


…and the meme says it all, but at least I have a black Charger, albeit 22 model years later.

I have to admit that Thjis Van Leer's vocalizing gets on my nerves a bit. It was alright in "Hocus Pocus" and "Sylvia" too but for example "Harem Scarem" is unlistenable to me because of his riff doubling.
That said I like Focus and especially songs like "Focus II" and "Focus III" (the double album of the same name is my favourite). Great players all of them.

I bought the Focus III vinyl long ago in a cutout bin, still in its initial shrink-wrap. Both discs were the same (I think sides 1/2).

The ci vs L thing is hard to pin down sometimes, the manufacturers play kinda fast & loose with the liter designations, depending on what works for the marketing department. The old 340 was, allegedly, a 5.6L, and the 350 is called a 5.7L, but a 345/5.656L isn't quite as awesome for trying to sell engines.
The metric engine manufacturers do it too, rounding up cc measurements to closest liter, sometimes with a pretty large gap.


Technically, ~61 c.i. = 1L, so a 5.6 should be 341.6 ci., and a 5.7 would be 347.7 ci, so your engine is actually closer to a 5.7L.

Having never been in a Starbucks, I couldn't begin to tell you what things cost.

I go because my daughters like it and it's where we hang out sometimes. They get milkshakes branded as coffees. I get plain old coffee with cream. Mine costs about half as much as theirs, but it's still a cheap date!
