Seconded.
The Southeast is a big allergy farm.
Alright ya'll... I placed an order for a 2014 and joined the club...
I intend to use the thunderbird with a pick and I like that the darker pickups interact with pick in a really cool way. But it seems like a lot of folks have other pickup preferences... Are the original T Birds brighter than current birds? I heard something about a thunder bucker?
I do not know where you got the idea that the original sixties Thunderbird pickups are sidewinders. They aren’t. The pickups in the ‘76 - ‘79 Bicentennial Thunderbirds are sidewinders. They are different. Some here really like them. Others not so much. YMMV.Gemini pickups in the UK make very cool Thunderbird sized pickups. They are true humbuckers so not the side winder of the original. However, I can vouch for their customer service and product quality. I brought a set of Devastators a few months back and adore them, but the dominators give a more authentic original tone. Highly recommend. Thunderbird Bass Pickups
Those pickups fit Thunderbirds and are original to 2015 Thunderbirds. Finding a 2015 is a challenge. If you see one for less than a zillion dollars, snagging it is a good move.the 2017ish EB4 has these sumbichs,
splitting coils on any humburgler sounds like a compromise at best, until these pickups, they are thunderous in humbucking or split. I wish I had a dozen sets of these…
too bad the bass is extremely 7enderish ergonomically…. Also too bad Gibson didn’t promote it and it’s earlier variants, this could have been a great seller and well regarded

I don't miss that part of spring, summer, and fall in Ohio and on the East Coast. My head was happier in the western Carolina hills for some reason. My head really likes the West Coast. And allergies. You forgot allergies....![]()
