Myth Buster.... Well there goes that belief... :D
Actually didn't know that. Pizza and Spaghetti....are we ok with those being Italian?
It is funny when you find so many things originated in America, but by immigrants (or not at times), and was believed to be something from the motherland.

I've long felt that way. Never understood blanket hatred for tort, because it just looks right on some instrument - especially on bodies that shape,
I do not like it on most things. It looks "normal" on old 3TSB Fenders and don't mind it on the white J, just because that's how they were. Other than that I'm not a fan, personally. Nor of 3TSB. But on some older instruments like Chuck's J, it looks normal and like it should. I would never buy one, unless it was killer deal and player. I've heard from studies, or a study, that orange is a much hated color, but my Fender Hotrod that is (California?) Sunset Orange is beautiful to me. Has it's own kind of tort-type pick guard that goes well with it.

Those who poop at random. Those who require enemas. Those who think Metamucil is a CIS/Microsoft conspiracy to plant microbots in your gut that will one day rise up to forcibly animate an army of Thunderbird neck breakers.
I'm not going to confirm or deny anything with respect to your definition. Could be a fitting time for an Alfred plea.

I did lower my neck pickup when I originally was running the bass stock, but by the time I got it low enough to negate the clatter, it was too far from the strings and too quiet. I haven't done stereo out on my 'birds, as most of them are IIs. I have run with a splitter cable out of that into two amp before, set differently, and have thought about setting the VP up for stereo, but the bridge pickup just isn't very useful to me, too far back near the bridge. With the 4001, the "bridge" pickup is closer to middle, which is generally where I like my main pickup to be, instead of a true bridge pickup like a jazz or Thunderbird.
Yeah I disconnected the bridge pickup in my Orville and so far I don't miss it. I might just put a blank in the bridge position.
