Thunderbird Club

@Ringhammer The battery you suggested arrived. Too bad one of the terminals was smashed by the USPS. Another is on the way. You mentioned the ones you buy were made in Vietnam. This one is made in Taiwan.

I'm pretty sure the motorcycles have Yuasa batteries in them. They work well and last well for what they are and the kind of use they get.

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes. That was very kind of you all to help me make it to 65. :)
I finished all of the clear coat on the blue VP.
Now she has to gas off and harden until somewhere around the first week of April. After that I’ll start the wet sand and polish part of the show.
Anything that looks rough is just reflection. There's no orange peel in the finish.
Lots of work but it will be worth it in the end. I pick out the project and Mrs. Gator chooses the color.
In our marriage, I'm the Boss..and I have her permission to say so. :)
Cheers to all!View attachment 5345884
Congratulations!

Here's an interesting Thunderbird find I came across.

I played a show with some crazy Bulgarian guys and that was one of the songs. One of them played a Bulgarian instrument that looked like a recorder but sounded like a flute. We threw it together in a week, which means I didn't play anything like Glen Cormack. I didn't even attempt the solo. Nobody threw anything at us, so I guess it was OK.

You should be able to get a small screwdriver under the terminal and pry it up enough to get you battery lead on it?

The ones I currently have are Vietnam.

Take a pic of the top, I wanna see the date code.

Since the seller is sending a new one, I didn't want to risk that it is damaged more than the terminal. The box was mangled. Date code looks like September 2023.

Heads up for anyone of you who have lost or broken knobs on amps, pedals, or keyboards-

There’s this guy from Romania who fabricates them along with wood paneling-

Invalid Link Removed

Found him very helpful when the knobs on my TC Electronics RH450 started falling off seemingly when I breathed on them- so I ordered some of his offerings and have been replacing the originals as needed- come in a number of different colors but I chose red in this case-

On a personal note the last 12 days have included my 64th birthday, our 45th anniversary, and testing positive for the ‘VID after a night of fever and coughing. Still alive but fever goes in and out and joints hurt. And it’s not just old age.[/-

Sorry that you’re suffering so- here’s wishing you a speedy and complete recovery-

As for the rest- congratulations and a belated happy birthday!
