I lied.Whoa now. Just a doggone minute. Weren't you saying 354 pages ago you needed to not be buying basses? We all knew it was crazy talking, but I'm glad you have gotten over that phase in life.

And just so it’s clear. Dibs on the blue BaCH.You know it would be a fashion faux pas to have both a white and green bass in the same collection. I think you should sell me your Jackson Bird just to make sure you continue to stay in good fashion standing.![]()
Incredibly entertaining. I know I saw them once. I usually remember these crucial, very important things. But I can’t for the life of me recall where. The Civic? Long Beach Arena? Anaheim Convention Center? I don’t even recall if they opened or headlined. They may, but again I don’t really remember, have been with George Thoroughgood. Lots of fog from ‘76 to ‘83.One of the bands I play with does La Grange. I have been trying to get the guitarist to do the ZZ Top dance with me while we do that song. He has kinda tried to do that. It's just not in his repertoire just yet.
I have been collecting charts for several years. I know I have a lot of ZZ’s stuff. But I’ve hardly looked at them except maybe a few times to check the rhythm when it has been a bit tricky. ZZ and Creedence are two bands anyone just starting to play should get to know. One of the bands I play with does La Grange. So I’m trying to retire. And be responsible. I need support from my good friends here. But I will not pass up a good opportunity when one arises. Life is too freaking short. And, in spite of all the drinking, my kidneys are fine. Any offers?Riiiiiiight…….
Stop. Just stop.Blue things are his weakness!

So, when you land that one does it mean you will be selling the Lull? Just checking.

So I think Frank and I are on good terms. Does that mean I have a shot at the blue BaCH?It will be awhile before that II happens, but I think it will. I just don't want to be sucking food out of a tube at that point. I think you're younger than me, so at some point (hopefully not soon) when I can't play them anymore the Lull and all the rest except maybe the '89 will get sold.

That's a good year, my birth year. It's this bass, one of 6 from '86. '76 pickup.

There's another as well, I don't have a pic of it, but it's in The Gibson Bass Book.
Here's some really cool footage of that "Little band from Texas" doing their first prime TV performance on Johnny Carson back in 1986. But it's also a good showcase of the house band intruding on that said performance.
You can see it in Billy's body language, he was annoyed with the house band messing up the cues and being quite a bit louder in the mix. I'm pretty sure, that had he been a tad less professional, he would have shouted "Turn those darn HORNS down!" live on air.
Well that was great, but that trumpet bloke was a bit off putting.
Ok i've just felt it again and it feels engraved definately. Slightly engraved.
