I bought this Fender Rivera "The Twin" back in 1987, sold it to my guitar bro Evan in 2002, then brokered the sale to my drummer bro Faisel this past February who wanted to add some tube amps to his studio stable (all tubes baby, including the rectifier).

Evan, like most rock guitarists, has ears of iron, but mine hurt after we did a sound check with Faisel's ES 335 with the amp volume at 1 and the wattage setting at 25!

Which this Fender ad I saw in a Creem magazine in the fall of 76 now staggers my imagination as to the sonic assault of this live stage setup-

Did some research on the Fender Super Twin - 180 watts as opposed to the Twin's 100! And each of Nugent's had its own 2 X 15 inch extension cabs!

I had (still have) a first gen 7ender Blues jr and was fine with it. But 15w is shaging loud. Nice clean and peddles for dirty.

I can't imagine a marsupial 100w half or full stack.

My favorite now is a 15w Orange that does attenuate down but I forget how much. (Capable of 0.5, 1, 7 or 15 Watts)

It does 7ender clean better than 7ender and crunches up better than a marsupial.

10w Vox and a 20w Marshall and a 7ender 15w pro jr are also in the mix but only the Marshall attenuates down to 5w but it's still obnoxiously loud at 5w.

if I had to do it all over again I'd have 2 oranges for about the same price as the 1 marsupial.

For the DJB recording project we're using my 15 watt Superchamp. Mike has a 30 watt Fender. It's stupidly loud.

This little guy here (second from left next to it's 16 ohm Celestion armed companion) sounds phenomenal! Very Marshall-like with its 12AX7 and EL 84 at 16 ohms-

Four watts with a 10 inch Celestion speaker, can't remember which, but the Marshall had greenbacks-

madness…to think PAs were for just drums and vocals at one time….

It was too heavy, even with the castors, but the clarity and sound quality were phenomenal at the modest volumes I played.

I was surprised to see Allan Holdsworth back in 2005 onstage with two of the old school Twin Reverbs stacked but at reasonable volumes (probably achieved via attenuators.)

Because Mesas were generally his preference.
