Note that Homer's classic rock radio station gets it wrong. It is NOT from Abba to Zeppelin, Led. It is properly Abba to Zappa, Frank.
Well said!

A short from Saturday, we had a very good crowd!
Now here's a question, when it comes to artists names, do you sort by first letter of the first name, or last name? Is Neil Young under N or Y?
What about The The?
It likely is. Old habits die hard. Like me putting The "English" Beat in the B section just before The Beatles because the real name in Britain was The Beat.I eventually started sorting by first name. It's just easier.
Either first or last depending upon the sorting algorithm.
Amusing anecdote:
My last name starts with a lower case letter (it is a Dutch thing). So in the early days of computer databases, I was often the first or last on a list as lower case are sorted separately from upper case.
When I started hanging around here, I envisioned V's band in real nun habits.Woohoo!
Also, there are way too freakin many bands with "Nasty Habits" in the name.
I wonder if nuns have a joke about that when their habits get dirty. When I started hanging around here, I envisioned V's band in real nun habits.

NY Headquarters.
What about The The?
Whom Whom ?They have no letters, so they go at the beginning.
If I had a The The cover band, it would be called Teh Teh.
I've never paid attention to the labels. AFAIK, all mine are US releases. They became pretty popular here, later seventies when Yes imploded and Proggers needed new music to hear. With spiral label or spaceship? Supposing it's the UK or European pressing.
I have the latter. My only spiral Vertigo GG is "Three Friends", other first four are 2nd UK editions with spaceship labels. Luckily the sleeves are the same and I'm rather fond of the (allegedly Roger Dean designed) label that has great colours when printed in UK.

By last name. Then the albums in chronological order by the release date. Lost albums like "Disco Jets" by Utopia do not go between "Another Live" and "Ra" but in the end after "Pov". I might have it in the '76 section 'though...![]()
I know we had issues with O' names when email was first introduced at work.*were and still sometimes are sorted...
