I like and play a lot of 80's music. At the time I was more into hard-core punk, but I've circled back and found some stuff that I dismissed, was actually really good.
I was just listening to Parallel Lines by Blondie yesterday. Great writing, playing and production!

Interesting, "View to a Kill" is easily my fave Bond song, perhaps because it's DD and I really like them (again that '80s thing with me) - I do like a lot of the others quite a bit as well though.

It could come down to being a personal era thing for me. (came of age in the '60s) I appreciate DD's playing and success but never followed' them. The other thing is that a Bond song regardless of style should incorporate a 'legacy' reference one way or the other. RadioHead did a very suitable version but it wasn't used. It's suspenseful, complex, sexy and sinister; Bond music staples, or at least in the best-case-scenario.

That could be correct - it was their performance on SNL playing that song the helped put Kubicki on the map.

That one has been around for a long time. So long that what seemed like a high price for a repaired refin now seems reasonable. @D.M.N. tried to negotiate for it a couple years ago or so. I would think about it were I not in the poorhouse due to our good Uncle in April.

I had forgotten. Shows what happens when you don't look at Reverb very often. I'm pretty well bought out unless the right Lull comes along at the right price. Even then, I might not do anything. I'm pretty happy with what I have. That means all my energies can go into enabling others. It's like being an evil uncle or something.

so totally agree…masterpiece…fme no one sings along to any other Bond tune the way they sing along to that one ….BLAST to play (for me anyway, ymmv) as well….seems like it got more kudos from the crowd than "Hungry" when I saw them in San Jose recently….

It's hard to beat Goldfinger.

I too was interested in a Kubicki back in around 2014-2015 when Phil was still alive.

Sent him an email and he responded saying that all he had at the time was a yellow one. I was wanting a black one and by the time I thought I might pre-order one, other budgetary concerns arose and it didn't happen. But he was a really nice guy.

So was Ned Steinberger when I sent an email asking if the XL series carbon fiber basses would ever be resurrected.

He said that it just wasn't profitable but was gracious in his response-

The drums on this are played so crisp by Tony Thompson, I love the recorded sound of them, second only to Bonham on "When the levee breaks". As I recall JT tried really hard to fit and work with Thompson, but it would never work as well as he and Roger Taylor.

Speaking of Bond, James Bond I ran across this exotic sounding Bond theme song by Björk. She has a beautiful voice!

This is my favorite Bond Movie and theme song was originally sung by Nancy Sinatra...I like her version too!
