I took at class at NYU called Theory of the Avant-Garde, and the professor would play Don't Stop the Dance every time we'd enter the room.

Ever hear a French person pronounce 'avant-garde'? Sounds cool but the pronunciation of 'genre' took a minute to process-

Can't say I have, but I'll be on the lookout! I have a couple of French friends, so I'll have to use them.

Inertia is just another name for laziness, which, as previously discussed, pays off immediately, unlike hard work and perseverance.

I've done my share of both- by the way it is also a psychiatric term often associated with catatonic states-

I don't either. And no gigs helped in arriving that that place either. I'd be staying at a shelter if getting paid for playing was a thing. In fact, given all the money I've spent to play, I'm the one paying for me to play. Forget I would play for free. Apparently I will pay a lot just to play.

What a strange name for a class. I had classes with far more normal names like Medicinal Chemistry 1 & 2, Qualitative Organic Analysis, Quantitative Inorganic Analysis... Easy to understand what those classes were about.

You forgot the ever popular Physical Chemistry. Not so obvious.

I didn't have a physical chemistry class. I did have Therapeutics 1 & 2, Physiology, and Pathology.

The microbiology exam was interesting. There was the bell-ringer section that was 5 minutes long. A slide was shown for 1 minute and you had to figure out what bacteria it was; there were 5 of them.

Ha! I love your ironic turn of phrase- though it was interesting to learn the electro-chemical process that occurs in batteries, stochiometric equations were the bane of my life (in some instances).

my exwifes band opened for Berlin around the turn of the century and I got to meet Terri Nunn, I shoulda left my future ex right there and runned off with Terri…

but it's a nice consolation seeing my Nasty Habits girlfriend…
