Thunderbird Club

I love The Fixx, great '80s band, they had a couple of really good bassist' the work on "One thing leads to another" is stellar. We recently discussed playing that song so I looked up a YT bass tutorial where the fellow was playing a Wal and really copping it well, needless to say probably above my abilities! '80s was actually a great decade of music, easily my fave, so many cool bands and different styles and influences.

This guy here,

99 outta 100 people are never gonna notice you not playing all the fill riffs. They're gonna be listening to 'the song'. I've heard that song a ship(sp?) load of times and I never noticed all the fancy [stuff].

was tooling back to Hol from Monterey on Sun on 1 in the AMX, 390 roaring at 2700 (orgasmic) when I saw one of these sneaking up in the rear view mirror….

I gunned it hard when he got next to me (one lane over) and gave him a good run until I ran out of top end (4 vs 5 spd manual) and as he's about to pass me, he pulls into the adjacent lane, looked at me and saluted before tearing away…..just one of those really cool moments……when Rosa asked, "why didn't you chase him?" I explained we did really good up against a 4 million dollar  car…..

Crazy cool encounter!

yeah, the the scream of that 390 at about 4500 in 4th is a blood curling thing of beauty…….don't do that often…
That '85 Ferrari is an Engineering Car designers dream. Very well designed so you pay $$$$.
EV's are cool too but I love the roar of a real gas engine.
EV's are fast but NOTHING beats a gasoline powered high HP engine packaged in a Classic car!
Plus go where you wanna go…EV's are always looking for charging stations. Ha!
It's coming but the internal combustion is still king for now. And I hope that's true for many years!

totally agree, even though it looks like a 308 it's a totally different animal….that motor is probably the closest you can get to an F1 motor of the time…..I think 100 years from now we'll be known as yucky primitive people who burned fossil fuels…….it's undeniable EV is the way forward….similar sentiments probably occurred when the motor car replaced the horse after thousands of years… anyway..
THUNDERBIRDS will be like Stradivarius violins by then… :hyper:
