Thunderbird Club

Yes, but I am still only thinking about it. If you want it I'll definitely stand back.
That's very kind, but for the sake of the seller... if you decide you want it, go for it.
Have a look at Matt(?) maxgroover's video on YouTube . (Should I say that lol) , I really like it. (I'm sure it sounds better with him playing it that it would with me :) )

I have 'things' to sort in the meantime. Youngest moving to Canberra to start Uni in July, sorting that out, paying the accommodation until she gets a job etc. I'm just a bit wary of leaving myself a bit short if things go a little pear shaped from my expectations.

You'll love the EB when you get it. There are some minor differences between the 13 and 14. The 13 has a front pickguard mounted Jack vs the side mount on the 14. I personally like the 13 best since I typically sit when practicing and don't need to worry about the cord getting in the way. The 13 also had a tort guard, which I would never put on any other Gibby but with the Fenderish looks of the EB it works. I think the only other difference might be the level of sheen on the finish, with the 13 being more of a matt finish and the 14 being closer to a satin IIRC.
Didn't think about the cord... I think I like the black pg and the trans red or black of the 14 a little more than the 13s. BUT not enough to stop me getting a 13 when the time is right. Especially since they don't seem very common down here.

There's trouble there, mark my words.

Need some quick help/information from the collective brain trust here. I'm looking at a 2011 Epi T-Bird, white with nickel humbuckers and bridge, supposedly a limited edition model, appears to be good condition low mileage. I can get it at a favorable price, just wondering about the pickups (TB+ in shiny metal covers or something else?) and if in fact this was a limited run bass etc. Been trying to talk myself out of it (I REALLY don't need another one...) but with the bright metal hardware, and if it's actually a special edition model...

Appreciate any information you all can pass along, need to jump soon if I'm jumping at all. N + 1, right?
I have a ltd. Epi with TB+. Through headphones they do not sound great. However, through my rig they sound fine. They are deep-sounding. I think eventually I will replace them.

Had a great time with both Will and Louis yesterday! The room was full of boutique stuff, lots of coffee tables and players that had no trouble playing circles around me, so we Thunderbird folks were outnumbered. All kidding aside, Will and Louis are both really nice, down to earth guys, I had the pleasure of playing both of their basses (Lou has a Spector 'Bird and Will brought his 2016). The Ampeg guys were kind enough to bring an SVT down so I had a bit of fun with it and my '77.

Haven't posted here in a VERY long while. But, in that time I've been sorta busy...and sorta busy collecting a very particular breed of Thunderbird. Specifically, the 1979 ebony finish 'Birds. Which, according to Larry Meiner's book "Gibson Shipment Totals: 1937-1979", Gibson shipped only 7 of them on its final year. It took me a number of years, but I've managed to source four of them.
And yeah, it was exhausting!
