Thunderbird Club

Good morning and welcome to the weekend. I greatly appreciate all the responses, advice, commentary and photos regarding my questions about buying a Ric. Just thought I would share that I reached out to the company inquiring if there might be any white finishes forthcoming (ala Rick James) and got a short reply that there were no plans for any at this time. I spoke with Sweetwater, who have always been very helpful, and I am a fan of their two year warranty, and their Jetglo Rics are on backorder with an anticipated delivery date of next May! Suspect it would be a similar story at the GC website. I plan on checking out Wildwood guitars as well. Their reputation for finish issues and whatnot, make me cautious of buying used without being able to give it a good once over first, so still thinking new. Perhaps this is a sign I am supposed to keep my hand on my wallet. At any rate, I appreciate the good words. Have a great weekend everyone.

I'm just curious. There are different types of filament.
One thing I can tell you is that I was sanding down the bottom so my finger has further to travel after striking the E string (I'm used to it hitting my thumb) and started to see little pits in the plastic. Since I don't know much about 3D printing materials, I decided to stop while I was ahead.

The slicing software, which takes the model and creates the instruction for the printer to lay down the layers of plastic, will by default create a sort of honeycomb lattice in the interior to save material. That's likely what you are seeing.

kinda goes with the territory….
Jensens rock…another example of Euro chassis, American muscle…

Wow a 440 Magnum in that Jensen! That engine is a beast! Look at the interior...there's wires hanging out! Wonder what he was wiring up?

Oh wait!! An unexpected T-Bird sighting!

And another one-

Was watching one of those ‘analyze this song’ videos on “Reelin’ in the Yesrs” when they showed Walter Becker playing the T-Bird.

An interesting nugget is guitarist Elliot Randall played a 63 Strat (with a humbucker at the neck) through an Ampeg head and into an Ampeg 8 X 10 cab for the studio recording-
