Thunderbird Club

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I really miss my old '73 4001 - I truly regret selling that bass.

Miss the fringy boots too.

I can understand the boots. The Ric? Not so much.

Im trying to type this while I'm a little choked up so bear with me.

My wife had been out of work for a couple of years and we have been struggling a little to get caught up. I haven’t made any bass related purchases in a long time but have been lusting after a Thunderbird.

Today I stopped my my local GC to fantasize and drool over some gear. I found a brand new black Epi 60's on clearance. I texted these pics to my oldest daughter, she's 21, and I joking told her I better leave before I do something stupid. I put the bass back on the rack and brousesd around for a few minutes and as I'm leaving the manager stops me and asks my name. He said don't leave. I have something for you. He came back with the bass and he said it's from McKenzie and Kylie. We both got choked up and I didn't even know what to say.

I'm so happy and so proud of my kids and I absolutely love this bass

Now, may I have a number?
Oh my God! This brings me to tears. You raised awesome daughters. Congratulations! And please become part of our family here.

At the time I was quite the Geddy Lee fanboy, the ‘73 4001 was my first really good bass. I bought it from Mike Lull in’76 at Bandstand Music in Bellevue, WA.
