Had this neck not been twisted, I’d still have it.

After being the first to play my Foundation, Chuck said it would be better with VBT vs VVT. George warned me about the difference between a pan pot and a true blend pot (no volume drop at detent) and provided some links. I was able to find a true blend pot (Bourns PDB182-GTRB2-254MN) but there is some debate on the proper wiring. Here are two examples (top from SD that was on the Bourns site, bottom is from Best Bass). Thoughts or suggestions?

I’ve not seen one wired like the Best Bass diagram. IIRC the SD diagram looks like what I’ve seen in the past, so I’d start there maybe using alligator clips and tape to hold things in place just long enough to see what it sounds like and confirm it functions the way you’d like, if not try the same temp connection method for the Best Bass method and see if it works better.
Be sure to check for that potential volume drop at center detent.

Love the mellow groove. Cool song. I like unexpected changes/progressions, or just chords when they don't seem overly thought out. ("Let's come up with something odd because we can," as opposed to when the unexpected just seems natural, but still not anticipated at all.) Always thought the Allman Bros were great at that. That may not make a bit of sense.....
beautifully said….to me the sign of true composers…

I was born in San Diego. My parents grew up in North Park and went to San Diego State. I attended Phoebe Hurst Elementary in Del Cerro through third grade. Would have gone to Patrick Henry HS had we not moved. Our family was mostly Navy. My Dad worked for Convair/General Dynamics. Once my uncle passed in ‘97, everyone left. Most have passed on now. I have a brother who is in Santee. He is the only one still down there.
My sisters and their husbands are still there, one in San Diego, one up near Yozey Mite. My SD sister is retiring next year, I believe, and then they're headed to Chattanooga. My other sister swore she'd never leave CA. Now they're just waiting for the hubs to retire and they're punching out too. I miss CA in many ways but not in taxes and cost of living.

I have had two Rics. I liked them well enough, but they are gone now. Can't say I miss them. Then there's the El Degas, which is a non-Ric but a keeper.
I played(mostly keys and sax)in a group 70-72. The first bass man we had owned a Ric. There was 1 song we played where I played bass. After trying his Ric, I stayed with my 66 EB3. Just as well since the song was "All Right Now". Sorta fitting.

Im trying to type this while I'm a little choked up so bear with me.

My wife had been out of work for a couple of years and we have been struggling a little to get caught up. I haven’t made any bass related purchases in a long time but have been lusting after a Thunderbird.

Today I stopped my my local GC to fantasize and drool over some gear. I found a brand new black Epi 60's on clearance. I texted these pics to my oldest daughter, she's 21, and I joking told her I better leave before I do something stupid. I put the bass back on the rack and brousesd around for a few minutes and as I'm leaving the manager stops me and asks my name. He said don't leave. I have something for you. He came back with the bass and he said it's from McKenzie and Kylie. We both got choked up and I didn't even know what to say.

I'm so happy and so proud of my kids and I absolutely love this bass

Now, may I have a number?

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I really miss my old '73 4001 - I truly regret selling that bass.

Miss the fringy boots too.

Cool photo. I never owned a Ric but I had the fringy boots and they looked cool with my fringe jacket while riding (speeding) on my Motorcycle. I also put horseshoe cleats on them and at night if you let them lightly drag on the road it sprayed 2 long rooster tails of sparks. People behind me slowed down because they didn't know what was actually happening!
