My brother hates prog. So there's that.I do. A lot. He has great taste in what he likes. But he is really missing out with his anti-prog stance.

You and everyone else here are welcome to come for a visit. The SVT is at the mountain place. There is a club pool, a golf course, good Mexican food in the village, a decent ribeye or burger at the clubhouse, or we can do BBQ here at the house. Clean air at 6000 feet and no neighbors to complain about the Thunderous sounds. I usually have seven or eight basses here, but I can bring many more up. Fly in to Burbank (preferred) or LAX.Don’t tempt me!
Wait, did you just say yellow Porsche, loved mine in Speed yellow, not as fond of their race yellow or the pale yellow colors.
Congrats! The white VP’s are hard to find. You done good!I already had a sunburst Thunderbird, but I always kind of craved a white one, and they seem to be one of the rarer "standard" colors, so when I had a little extra money and one popped up on the market, how could I say no?

There's just something very classic about a white Tbird, IMO...

That at least looks more balanced. One lonely tuner stuck on the opposite side looks like an after-thought to me.
Note: I don't play a fiver and I realize it's an easy way to add that extra tuner.
I was born in San Diego. My parents grew up in North Park and went to San Diego State. I attended Phoebe Hurst Elementary in Del Cerro through third grade. Would have gone to Patrick Henry HS had we not moved. Our family was mostly Navy. My Dad worked for Convair/General Dynamics. Once my uncle passed in ‘97, everyone left. Most have passed on now. I have a brother who is in Santee. He is the only one still down there.Nice! Congrats! That's beautiful country up there. I am from San Diego but have been up that way a number of times. I still need to get back to CA again; it's been three years. I'll be near Phoenix for Christmas to get out of Tennessee winter for a bit, but it's not the same as being in CA.
Interesting that you've never even held a Pbass! You might like them, especially one with a J neck.
Nothing quite like a White Thunderbird onstage - you'll be noticed!
Great score, that looks like brand new, let me know if you'd like a club number - be welcome here!
Possibly, but since I have all the basses I "need", there's little point. The Squire Vintage Modified Jaguar I had wasn't bad, but with the arthritis-or whatever-in my left thumb, playing a 3 hour gig on its neck profile was painful. Sold it and got an Epi EB-0-with a very familiar feeling neck. Both are my designated backup/tight spaces basses. BTW, the J pup was useless.Interesting that you've never even held a Pbass! There was a mod for the pickup that reportedly improved it immensely. A bar magnet placed underneath.Possibly, but since I have all the basses I "need", there's little point. I fully admit to being a bit weird. I buy a bass based on what it sounds like. Not what I'd hafta pay to modify to get it to-maybe-sound the way I want it to. Witness the EpiBird 5er: It played "OK" with its P/J setup, but. It wasn't mahogany(IMO the best tonewood); I would've had to put a lotta $ into new pups/installation(not something I have the ability-or interest-in doing)and it still wouldn't have been mahogany; IDK what pups would've given it/me the sound I wanted, but if I had to guess, it would've been a "mudbucker" in place of the P pup and maybe a mini-mudbucker in place of the J pup. And it still wouldn't have been mahogany. There was a mod for the pickup that reportedly improved it immensely. A bar magnet placed underneath.
I think you just have to accept that some people don't like SVTs or prog rock.I get it. But my SVT VR rig with the Berg NV610 is pretty sweet. Might change your mind if you fly out for a weekend to visit.

Understood, but some people simply don't like that Ampeg tone.An SVT VRV thru a NV610 is a different animal than a typical SVT CL thru an 810e. Still might not like it, but definitely a much different thing. Of course you could probably fart through an NV610 and it'd sound pretty good IMO.
B-15Understood, but some people simply don't like that Ampeg tone.

I use one at the studio because it's my house amp, but direct into it I don't like it. It sounds good once I tighten up the tone with my dirt pedal and such. I'd use my GK any day over that.B-15![]()
The B-18 I played through was terrific. The mid-70s Blue Line SVT/810, not so much.B-15![]()
