We used to hang out at the main music store in Santa Barbara when I was in high school. No one wanted a new 12 pound 70’s 7ender bass. The Teles and Strats were popular though. A pre-CBS, and even “transition” years basses were the ticket. All so true.
It’s freakin crazy!
Yes. Yes you do. I’ll have some funds later in the year and can talk to you about it if it’s still available. First up will be an eb with the DeColas that has been in the works for quite some time now. Then I can concentrate on that beauty. I could maybe do it sooner, but then I couldn’t do Seattle. And making the Seattle trip is a priority.I've got a 5er he'd love. View attachment 5470169

Those Berg NV cabs are sweetI get it. But my SVT VR rig with the Berg NV610 is pretty sweet. Might change your mind if you fly out for a weekend to visit.
They are. Berg has indicated that he thinks about revisiting the line, and I don’t think that he has ruled it out entirely. But in today’s economy, the price may be prohibitive. The world can use a modern sealed cab alternative to the current line of Ampegs. Those Berg NV cabs are sweet
Ehh, no, but my heritage qualifies me to wear a kilt. My legs, however, don't.

That's so you can play "Yes" songs. Not sure what they could have done given it was an add on by a luthier. Fill the tuner holes and start from scratch? Strings look mighty close to the edge.

Hmm. OK, I never claimed to have any class, and I didn't like my SVT. I've also never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express(do those still exist?).I have no class. That must be why I don't like SVTs.
Hmmm. I think we're on to something here.Hmm. OK, I never claimed to have any class, and I didn't like my SVT. I've also never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express(do those still exist?).
And I've never held a P bass.

I’m working on getting my brother to bring his drum set to the basement at the mountain place. He is a great guitar player. With no discipline. I can’t get him to focus long enough to have a meaningful jam. He used to play drums. And was one of the drummers my guitar buddy and I rotated our bands with back in the day. If I can get him to bring them over, I want to try and learn. A good set of vids would be a great place to start. I know his wife is all for getting them out of their house. You might like this channel. Jay is my best friend and the drummer/BL/songwriter/studio musician/recording engineer/producer in my band. He does a wide variety of covers from gospel to country to rock to metal and has a ton of lesson videos too.

Anything “vintage” 60’s is ridiculous, never mind the 70’s. I remember when you couldn’t give away a 70’s P-bass and now people want big bucks! At one point I wanted to buy a 70’s p bass just to do some horrific things to, because they were the cheapest USA P-basses… and that wasn’t all that long ago!
As does mine. But no way I’ll ever do it. Ever.Ehh, no, but my heritage qualifies me to wear a kilt. My legs, however, don't.![]()
One of the greatest tracks ever recorded. Wakeman’s awesome solo was actually recorded on a humongous organ in a church. I can’t understand Willy sometimes. That's so you can play "Yes" songs.![]()
Those Antigua BaCH's look great. And there’s that beautiful smile again! I’m still gassin for the Jackson.
I bought my white BaCH from Bill @saltymonkey - great guy to do business with! Best packaging job on any bass I’ve ever purchased bar none! It is white Wednesday, so I’ll get us BaCH on topic and off this green goodness…

I've considered it a coupla times. My daughter and I go to Irish Fests and Scottish Highland Games. But to invest in a good outfit for 2-3 days a year just ain't worth it. To me.As does mine. But no way I’ll ever do it. Ever.
